Why use one hotel base?
Nainital and Bhimtal work well as a short lake holiday with one hotel base. Staying three nights in the same property reduces packing and leaves a full day for Nainital and another for the surrounding lake area. Choose a Nainital base for town access or a Bhimtal-area property for a quieter stay, after checking the actual location and road approach.
Delhi route and arrival planning
The road approach generally travels towards the Haldwani–Kathgodam side before the final hill section. The appropriate route depends on your pickup and hotel. Do not treat the drive as a fixed number of hours: town traffic, breaks and hill-road conditions matter. Let the arrival day stay flexible and advise the hotel of your expected arrival.
Nainital local sightseeing
The main lake area, Naina Devi Temple and Mall Road offer a compact town programme. Boat rides, ropeway tickets and viewpoints require their own access and operating checks. Parking may be away from the busiest pedestrian areas. Tell us whether the group prefers walking, lake time or a shorter sightseeing list so the programme fits everyone.
Bhimtal, Sattal and Naukuchiatal
Bhimtal provides a different lake setting from busy Nainital. Nearby lake outings can be selected according to the hotel base and the time available. A relaxed visit with one optional activity often works better than rushing between every location. Boating and other activities are subject to operation and are paid separately unless explicitly included.
Kainchi Dham as an optional visit
If Kainchi Dham is an essential part of your trip, request it while the route is being designed. Temple queues, traffic and visiting arrangements require time, so it may replace another outing rather than being added on top. A visit does not mean a guaranteed short queue or special access.
When to visit and what to pack
Spring and early summer suit lake-and-hill breaks, while autumn is another useful planning option. Check weather for the actual dates and leave flexibility during rainy periods. Carry layers, a rain layer when needed and shoes suitable for town walks. Hotel heating, parking, steps and distance from the lake should be checked before booking.
Choose your vehicle and hotel arrangement
A couple or small family can request a car with driver. For a larger group, compare a Tempo Traveller, Force Urbania or bus according to passengers, bags and the route. Confirm the actual seating layout and luggage space before booking. A vehicle name alone does not establish a particular interior or equipment. Ask about air-conditioning, pickup points, daily route and any local vehicle change.
Choose hotels by location as well as category. Confirm the hotel names or agreed alternatives, room type, occupancy, extra beds and meal plan. Mention children’s ages, early arrival and any need for a lift or fewer stairs. Early check-in, late checkout and special room requests depend on confirmation and may cost extra.
Package price and the quotation you receive
The price depends on departure dates, guests, number of rooms, hotel selection, vehicle, route and included services. Ask for the complete payable amount rather than comparing headline rates. Your quotation should identify hotel nights, meal plan, pickup and drop, sightseeing transport, driver allowance, tolls, parking and applicable taxes. Monument tickets, guides, rides and optional activities should each be marked as included or payable separately.
Delhi pickup, airport arrival and return planning
Share the exact Delhi or NCR address, or the airport terminal and flight details, plus any additional boarding points. Agree waiting time, pickup instructions and any extra transfer charge. Avoid attaching a long road transfer to a tight flight connection. On return, allow a practical traffic and airport reporting buffer; a late arrival should have an agreed alternative plan.
How to confirm your holiday
Send your dates, passengers, room needs, pickup, hotel preference and comfortable budget range. Review the route and overnight stays, then the itemised quotation. Confirm service availability, deposit, balance payment, cancellation charges and changes to the programme before payment. Keep the written confirmation and agreed contact details for the trip. Plan your trip with Udan Travel, operated under the registered trade name Udan Travel Ind Services.

Choose Nainital for closer access to its central town sights, or a Bhimtal-area base for a quieter stay. Check the hotel’s precise location and road approach.
