Varanasi changes the rhythm of the trip: lanes and riverfront steps replace large vehicle-accessible monuments. The extension is designed around two Varanasi nights, local assistance and an independently confirmed onward connection. It is not sold as an automatic same-vehicle drive from Agra.
The suggested plan finishes in Varanasi. A return flight or train to Delhi is an additional arrangement unless itemised. Domestic transport, baggage allowance, airport or station transfers and local vehicle duty must be written into the quotation; no timetable or flight availability is assumed.

Ghats and old lanes
Take a guided walk at a pace that suits the group. The ghats are working religious spaces, not a performance area that can be reserved by a vehicle booking.
Sarnath option
A separate Sarnath outing can add a different historical and religious perspective. Check current site and museum opening arrangements before making it essential.

The sequence is an example. Arrival time, weekly closures, the confirmed transport services and hotel availability can change the order. The final proposal should show each overnight city, transfer, activity and departure arrangement.
Day 1 · Delhi arrival
Overnight: Delhi
Meet at the agreed terminal and transfer to the hotel. Keep arrival-day plans light, especially after an overnight international flight. A short local outing is optional if the room, traffic and your energy allow it.
Confirm the airport meeting method and a working contact number before departure. Give the flight number and arrival terminal; landing time is not the same as being ready at the exit.
Day 2 · Delhi heritage and neighbourhoods
Overnight: Delhi
Choose an Old Delhi walk with local guidance and a manageable New Delhi heritage visit. Humayun’s Tomb or Qutub Minar can anchor the programme, rather than trying to visit every landmark.
Discuss stairs, heat and walking limits. Religious sites may pause entry or restrict photography. A driver manages the vehicle; a city guide, where requested, leads the interpretation inside sights.
Day 3 · Delhi to Jaipur
Overnight: Jaipur
Travel after breakfast and check into the agreed Jaipur hotel. Leave the afternoon flexible for a short walk or exterior photo stop.
Avoid committing to an interior palace visit before knowing the actual arrival. The overnight base should have suitable vehicle access and enough rest before the following city day.
Day 4 · Jaipur city and Amber
Overnight: Jaipur
Combine Amber Palace with selected city visits such as City Palace, Jantar Mantar and Hawa Mahal. Include a proper lunch break and confirm any local access vehicle separately.
Choose a market visit only if it interests you. A guided craft stop is optional; ask for a programme without shopping if that is your preference.
Day 5 · Jaipur to Agra
Overnight: Agra
Travel towards Agra. Fatehpur Sikri may be included by agreement, allowing time for parking, local access and walking. Otherwise keep the transfer direct and consider Agra Fort after arrival.
The Taj Mahal visit is scheduled for the next permitted morning. If that would be Friday, reorder the circuit before confirming hotels and tickets.
Day 6 · Taj Mahal and Delhi transit
Overnight: Delhi transit
Visit the Taj Mahal, return for breakfast and checkout, then travel to the confirmed Delhi transit hotel. The extra night reduces dependence on a tight road-to-flight connection.
If you prefer a suitable rail service from the Agra area instead, the programme and overnight allocation must be rewritten around the actual service. This sample does not imply a confirmed direct connection.
Day 7 · Fly or travel by confirmed rail to Varanasi
Overnight: Varanasi
Transfer to the correct terminal or station for the booked service. On arrival, meet the local transfer and continue to the hotel. Keep the first riverfront outing flexible.
An evening aarti visit is possible only if arrival, walking access and local conditions permit it. Viewing location, assistance and any boat arrangement are separate items; a seat is not automatically reserved.
Day 8 · Varanasi riverfront and optional Sarnath
Overnight: Varanasi
Choose a dawn ghat walk and, if operating safely, an optional boat outing with life jackets and a confirmed operator. Respect worshippers and avoid photographing cremation activity.
Return for breakfast and rest. A Sarnath excursion can be planned later with current opening checks. Keep the afternoon programme realistic rather than combining a long temple queue, museum and several distant stops.
Day 9 · Varanasi departure
Overnight: No hotel night included in this sample
Leave for the agreed airport, railway station or onward hotel. Share your onward booking details so collection and porter assistance can be arranged.
The sample finishes in Varanasi. Delhi return, an extra night or international flight positioning must be requested separately, with enough connection time for the actual services.

Hotel areas, room choices and practical access
In Varanasi, a riverfront or old-city hotel may involve steps, narrow lanes and porter assistance. A Cantonment-area property may simplify vehicle boarding but needs a longer transfer to the ghats. Ask for the exact access path, lift information and meeting point, not only a statement that the hotel is near the river.
Ask for the actual property and room category, not just a star label. State whether you need one double bed or twin beds, an extra bed, connecting rooms, a lift or a step-free route. Breakfast, early check-in, late checkout and cancellation conditions vary by property and must be confirmed. A destination photograph does not promise a particular hotel, view or room.
Arrival, guides and useful advice for international guests
Send the arrival flight number, terminal, arrival date in India and a working phone or WhatsApp contact. Request a meeting-point instruction before you fly. Immigration and baggage time, an airport transfer and hotel check-in all need allowance; avoid making a prepaid visit depend on a precise airport exit time.

Does the tour return to Delhi?
The nine-day example ends in Varanasi. Ask for a separately itemised Delhi return if required, especially before an international departure.
Is a sunrise boat trip always available?
No. Boats depend on river conditions, permissions and the operator. Agree an alternative walking programme if boating is unavailable or unsuitable.
Are hotels, meals, tickets and guides automatically included?

Can the itinerary change around a Friday Taj Mahal closure?
