A holiday plan that fits the journey
A Chopta and Tungnath tour from Delhi combines a mountain road stay with an optional walking route. This six-day example stages both Delhi transfers through Rishikesh and gives the confirmed Chopta/Dugalbitta-area base three nights. It suits a group that wants a flexible mountain visit and understands that road transport, temple entry and trekking arrangements are separate questions.
Use one Rishikesh night outward, three nights in the confirmed Chopta-area base and one Rishikesh return night. The walking programme is selected for current weather, route status and the group’s ability. Tungnath temple opening and Chandrashila access are not guaranteed by a general package booking; a non-trekking guest should have a realistic alternative.
This suggested plan is a starting point for a private trip, not a fixed daily departure. Your pickup location, travel dates, hotel choice and the group’s pace determine the final schedule. Tell us which visits matter most so the team can remove unnecessary driving and provide a clear proposal.
Delhi to Chopta & Tungnath: road route, distance and travel time
Allow approximately 240–290 km to the Rishikesh hotel area one way and 6–9 hours for the road transfer as a planning range. Delhi/NCR pickup location, traffic, comfort stops, roadworks and the exact hotel or gate can move the distance and arrival time outside this range.
The headline distance and time refer to the first Delhi transfer stage, not the complete circuit. Use the transfer table below for the onward stages and confirm the current route for your date.
The displayed corridor is a practical planning route, not a live traffic instruction. The driver may use a suitable alternate after checking conditions and the vehicle’s access. Confirm the pickup pin and return deadline before finalising; a map estimate for a small car is not a guaranteed group-vehicle schedule.
One-way destination distance is not the total billable distance. Ask for the return journey, local use, garage-to-garage basis if applicable, and extra-kilometre or extra-hour terms in writing.
These are suggested overnight bases, not confirmed accommodation. The written proposal should name each hotel, room category, occupancy, meal plan and booking terms. Count the transfer nights as part of the holiday when comparing another itinerary.
Suggested 6-day itinerary from Delhi
Departure windows below are planning suggestions. Confirm the actual pickup, hotel and venue timings for your date. Use one group meeting point wherever practical and keep meals and comfort stops in the schedule.
Day 1 — Delhi to Rishikesh staging stay
Collect the group at the agreed points, travel with planned breaks and reach the Rishikesh property. Rest before the mountain transfer. A short nearby evening visit can be discussed if arrival is comfortable, but avoid an overfilled arrival day.
Day 2 — Rishikesh to the Chopta-area property
Travel through the currently suitable Garhwal corridor with meal and comfort stops. Confirm the final hotel/camp approach before leaving. A roadside village stop is optional and must fit the transfer window; do not assume a large vehicle reaches every accommodation gate.
Day 3 — Optional Tungnath walking day
Use a currently assessed route with appropriate local arrangements if the group chooses to walk. Agree the starting point, guide scope, turnaround and return collection plan. Temple entry and any extension towards Chandrashila depend on current conditions and participant readiness; an easier local day remains available.
Day 4 — Flexible local day or one separate outing
Choose a selected nature visit, rest day or separately planned Sari/Deoria Tal walking outing if it is currently suitable. Do not combine several treks just because their starting points are in the region. Keep the programme manageable for guests who prefer less walking.
Day 5 — Chopta-area base to Rishikesh
Check out early and descend via the selected current road with planned breaks. Keep the Rishikesh overnight rather than promising a long same-day mountain descent and Delhi return. Agree any optional en-route visit before departure.
Day 6 — Rishikesh to Delhi
Return after breakfast with comfort stops and a clear final drop. Leave the onward-connection buffer intact. A disrupted road or altered walking plan follows the agreed route-change and extra-night process rather than a guaranteed six-day completion claim.
Main road-transfer planning ranges
The table covers the main transfer stages. These are approximate planning ranges, not live navigation, guaranteed arrival or the total billable kilometres. Confirm the current road choice, exact pickup and hotel approach before departure.

Places to visit in Chopta & Tungnath: what to prioritise
Chopta / Dugalbitta mountain setting
Choose an accessible nature stop or shorter walk. Views and local conditions vary; the stay does not guarantee snow or a particular wildlife sighting.
Optional Tungnath walking route
Confirm current route and temple access separately. Discuss the actual walk and local guide arrangement; the road vehicle does not carry passengers along the trek.
Conditional Chandrashila extension
This is an additional walking commitment. It is not automatically suitable, open or included for every guest and must be assessed locally.
Optional Sari / Deoria Tal outing
Give it a separate day and current route/access check if requested. A shorter village or nature visit can be selected instead.
Hotel areas, walking and vehicle access
Choose a practical hotel base
Chopta-area properties and camps differ in road access, room facilities, bathroom arrangements, meal availability and seasonal operation. Ask for the exact property pin, actual room/camp category, essential facilities and parking-to-reception approach. A camp image does not establish the booked accommodation or an all-season stay.
Plan the last part of each visit
Vehicle suitability must be checked for the final road and accommodation approach. Permitted local transfers may be needed. Trekking routes are separate from motorable roads; share walking limits and organise a realistic non-trekking alternative. Guide, gear or porter services are separately confirmed rather than included by implication.
Ask for the hotel name and map pin before approving a package. Confirm room occupancy, extra-bed charges, breakfast hours and cancellation terms. For reduced mobility, verify the actual room and attraction approach rather than relying on a general “family-friendly” description.
Season, local planning advice and an easier alternative
Temple opening, walking-route access and road suitability require current confirmation. Rain, snow, fog and local restrictions can change the itinerary and the upper-road approach. Keep a flexible local alternative and do not rely on a general destination calendar as proof that a trek or temple interior is available.
A mixed group can keep one optional walking day and a flexible second local day without making every guest attempt the same route. Confirm the meeting point and return arrangement before the walkers leave. Another pilgrimage or distant trek requires a separately planned duration and access check.
Carry weather-appropriate layers, comfortable shoes, drinking water and a small day bag. Keep the group’s valuables and essential personal items with them during local walks. Follow the venue’s photography and entry rules, keep public areas clean and use authorised local services where required.
Questions that make your quotation useful
Specify whether the group wants a hill stay, a Tungnath walk or a conditional longer trek. Ask for the actual accommodation facilities, road approach and local guide scope. Agree a non-trekking alternative and the handling of route changes before payment.
For a private group, request the exact pickup order, vehicle layout, suitcase storage and daily reporting plan. For couples or a family, compare room occupancy and the walking approach before selecting a property. For an office retreat, wedding group or multi-room booking, specify meeting or event requirements separately; a sightseeing itinerary does not include a venue contract.
If the trip starts after an airport or railway arrival, share the terminal or station, date and the agreed meeting point. An arrival-transfer service is different from a full Delhi sightseeing day. If guests finish in Udaipur, Jaipur or another city instead of returning to Delhi, request an amended one-way or onward-drop quote rather than using the round-trip sample unchanged.
Car, Urbania, Tempo Traveller or bus for Chopta & Tungnath
Choose transport around the whole trip: Delhi pickup points, actual passengers, luggage, mobility needs and the last hotel approach. More advertised seats do not automatically mean more usable baggage space. The exact vehicle and facilities must be confirmed in the quote.
Car / SUV
A couple or small family can request a car or SUV. Share every passenger, child seat requirement and suitcase count before choosing a model; seat count alone does not confirm luggage fit.
A smaller private group can compare Urbania seating configurations. Request the offered vehicle’s current photos, passenger capacity, seat layout, luggage provision and hotel-road suitability before payment.
A family or friends group can compare Tempo Traveller options. Ask about the precise passenger seating, sofa layout if offered, working facilities and baggage space; no configuration is assumed from a category name.
Larger groups need a vehicle and route plan together. Confirm actual capacity, luggage storage, hotel parking, legal local access and whether smaller local transfers will be needed.
Current vehicle photos and seating details are available on WhatsApp or email before booking. Confirm AC, charging, music, seat recline and baggage arrangements for the actual vehicle offered.
For multiple pickups, send the addresses in a sensible sequence and allow the extra time. A group leader should keep the passenger list and meeting points organised. Tell us about reduced walking ability before a hotel or attraction is selected; local access can be more important than a larger seat count.
Package cost, inclusions and exclusions
A tour package is a custom quotation, not a fixed promise that every service is included. Ask for the vehicle category, trip dates, agreed route, hotel if requested, rooming arrangement and total payable amount in writing. Compare quotations using the same itinerary and inclusion list.
Confirm in the written quote
Road transport, driver and the agreed pickup/drop points.
Fuel and the stated kilometre/day or package allowance.
Tolls, parking, state charges and driver allowance: included or separately payable.
Hotel name, room type, occupancy and meals, only if a stay is requested and confirmed.
Taxes, advance amount, balance schedule and the validity of the quote.
Never assume these are included
Monument tickets, guides, local e-rickshaws, porters and restricted-area transfers.
Safari permits and authorised safari vehicles, rafting and outdoor activities, boating or cable cars.
Meals, room upgrades, extra beds and personal expenses unless specifically listed.
Extra stops, excess kilometres, additional hours or an extra night.
Any cancellation refund that has not been stated in the applicable terms.
The planning distance shown here is one way to the destination area. Billing may use round-trip, local-use and garage-to-garage kilometres or a stated package allowance. Ask which basis applies and how extra use is charged. A short return detour can affect both driving hours and cost.
Hotel, activity and permit cancellations may have different terms from transport. Before an advance is paid, obtain the cancellation deadlines, weather-related change process and any non-refundable supplier charges. If the route or attraction becomes unsuitable, agree a revised itinerary and price rather than assuming the original plan can proceed.
How to request and confirm your holiday trip
1. Share a complete trip brief
Send the destination, departure and return dates, Delhi/NCR pickup areas, adults and children, luggage and your preferred vehicle. Add walking limitations, room requirements, meal preferences and the one experience that matters most.
2. Compare a written proposal
Check the itinerary, estimated transfers, exact hotel if requested, room occupancy, vehicle configuration and all fare items. Ask for current vehicle photos and clarify local parking or transfer arrangements before deciding.
3. Confirm availability and terms
Availability is checked for the actual date. Read payment and cancellation terms, and make a booking only after the team confirms the requested arrangements. Sending this form or a WhatsApp message does not reserve seats, rooms or permits.
4. Recheck before departure
Confirm pickup time, driver contact, hotel pin, reporting time for any booked activity and the final sightseeing priorities. Carry the documents required by the relevant venue, but share sensitive identity information only through the appropriate authorised booking process.

Chopta & Tungnath tour package FAQs
Does booking Chopta transport confirm Tungnath or Chandrashila access?
No. Road travel, accommodation, temple opening and walking-route conditions are separate. Confirm the current local arrangements and the actual optional walking programme, and retain a non-trekking alternative.
What is included in the tour package?
Only the services listed in the final written quotation. Transport-only and transport-with-hotel requests are different. Tickets, meals, guides and activities are not assumed included.
How is the fare calculated?
It depends on travel dates, actual pickup points, vehicle, trip duration, kilometre allowance, hotel requirements and optional services. Ask for the total and extra-use charges rather than comparing an incomplete starting price.
Can we book only a vehicle?
Yes, you can request transport only and arrange your own hotel. Share its exact map pin and parking information so the road approach and local sightseeing can be checked.
Can this itinerary be changed for children or elderly travellers?
Yes. Fewer stops, a more accessible hotel, longer rest periods and earlier return can be discussed. Walking, steps and local vehicle restrictions must be checked for the specific venues.
Are the travel times guaranteed?
No. They are planning ranges. Traffic, pickup order, weather, roadworks, breaks and the final hotel approach affect actual arrival. Keep a buffer before any onward journey.
Does the enquiry form confirm a booking?
No. It prepares a message for you to review and send. Rooms, vehicles, activities and permits are reserved only after the team confirms availability and the required booking steps are completed.
Check the destination or official booking guidance below for current local information. Attraction access, permits and venue services must be reconfirmed for your travel date.
